How to Transfer Cooking Fever Progress to a New Phone
Almost every Cooking Fever transfer progress question has the same answer: connect a Nordcurrent ID on the old phone before you touch the new one. This guide gives you those steps in order, explains where the old Facebook login went, covers moving between Android and iPhone, tells you what happens to your purchases, and shows what to do when the new phone loads an older save. It is part of our Cooking Fever guides on keeping an account safe.
Where your Cooking Fever progress actually lives
Cooking Fever keeps your save on the phone. Every restaurant you unlocked, every upgrade, your coin and gem balances, your XP level and your Calendar streak sit in the app’s data on that one device. Nothing leaves the phone unless you tell the game to copy it somewhere, and the game gives you exactly one way to do that today: a Nordcurrent ID.
That matters because a new phone does not inherit app data from the old one by default. Restoring a phone backup sometimes carries the game’s files across and sometimes does not, and the game itself makes no promise either way. Nordcurrent’s support article on Nordcurrent ID describes the account as the way to be sure progress data is stored on their servers and survives any change of device. Treat everything else as luck.
One consequence: a Cooking Fever progress transfer needs an internet connection at both ends, because the copy goes through Nordcurrent’s servers rather than from phone to phone. Our guide to what Cooking Fever does offline covers why the game wants a connection in the first place.
Transfer Cooking Fever progress with a Nordcurrent ID
The order matters more than any single step. The account has to be created on the phone that holds the progress you want to keep. Create it on the empty new phone first and the account will hold an empty save.
On the old phone
- Open Cooking Fever and tap the gears icon in the bottom right corner to open Settings.
- Tap the LOG IN button at the bottom of the Settings window.
- Type the email address you want tied to the account. Nordcurrent’s article advises a personal address rather than a work or school one, because you will need it for as long as you play.
- Check that inbox for a confirmation code and enter it in the game. The same code step repeats every time you log in on a new device.
- Wait for the Settings screen to show the account as connected before you close the game.
On the new phone
- Install Cooking Fever from the official Google Play listing or the App Store. Do not play any levels yet.
- Open Settings with the gears icon and tap LOG IN.
- Enter the same email address and the confirmation code it receives.
- The game pulls the saved progress down. Check a restaurant you know you unlocked and your gem balance before you do anything else.
Nordcurrent’s article describes two outcomes from the same steps. Log in on the new phone and stop using the old one, and you have transferred Cooking Fever progress. Keep both phones logged in and you have synchronised them, with one progress shared across both devices.
The email address cannot be changed later. Nordcurrent’s support article states that once a Nordcurrent ID exists, the email attached to it is fixed, and a player who needs a different address has to create a new Nordcurrent ID. A new ID does not carry the old progress with it. So choose an address you will still be able to open in five years, and never one tied to an employer, a school, or a phone contract you might cancel.
The old Facebook login and where it went
For years the only way to transfer Cooking Fever progress was to connect the game to Facebook on both devices. Older guides, and most of the Playbite answers that still rank for this topic, tell you to do exactly that. You cannot. Nordcurrent’s support article on the missing Facebook option says the connection was removed because of technical limitations and will not return.
If your progress was saved to Facebook before the removal, the same article says the data is still safe: it stays on the device it was on, or stays linked to the original profile. What you lose is the ability to pull it onto a new phone through Facebook. The fix is to open the game on the old device, create a Nordcurrent ID there, and follow the steps above.
If the old device is gone and Facebook was your only link, the article’s advice is to contact support and include the Device ID shown at the bottom of the Settings screen. More on that in the support section below.
Android to iPhone and back again
This is the part of the Cooking Fever transfer progress story that changed most. For a long time Nordcurrent’s documentation said progress could only be synchronised between devices on the same platform: iCloud for iOS, a Google Play account for Android, an Amazon account for Amazon devices. Under that rule an Android save simply could not reach an iPhone.
Nordcurrent ID replaces that. The support article lists the feature as available on Android and on iOS and iPadOS, and the same steps apply on both. Connect the ID on the Android phone, log in on the iPhone, and the progress comes across. The reverse direction works the same way. Nordcurrent’s Facebook article describes the ID as working across any device or platform, which is the clearest statement they have published.
| Route | Method | Works? |
| Android to Android | Nordcurrent ID | Yes |
| iPhone to iPhone or iPad | Nordcurrent ID | Yes |
| Android to iPhone | Nordcurrent ID | Yes |
| iPhone to Android | Nordcurrent ID | Yes |
| Phone to Windows edition | Nordcurrent ID | Not listed in Nordcurrent’s documentation |
| Phone to phone | Facebook login | No longer available |
Two cautions. Nordcurrent’s article names Android and iOS only, so treat the Amazon and Windows editions as unconfirmed rather than supported. And the sync between platforms carries your save, not your store account, which brings us to purchases.
What happens to purchases
Everything you bought inside Cooking Fever is stored as part of the progress data, not as a separate licence. A restaurant you unlocked with paid gems is just an unlocked restaurant in the save. Gems you bought and have not spent are a number in the same file. When the progress moves, they move with it. Nordcurrent’s article on resetting progress confirms the link from the other direction: it warns that resetting erases every purchase along with the progress and nothing can be restored afterwards.
What does not move is the receipt. Google Play and the App Store each keep their own purchase history, and neither knows about the other. If you ever need a refund or a purchase investigation, you deal with the store where you paid, on the account you paid with. Nordcurrent does not publish a separate policy on purchases that cross platforms, so do not expect Apple to see something you bought through Google.
The practical rule: keep the old store account alive until you have confirmed everything on the new phone, and keep receipts for anything recent. If you are wondering whether the care is worth it, our full restaurant unlock table puts the whole game at 1,043,000 coins and 1,125 gems. Any part of that you paid for is worth five minutes of checking. Gems you earned rather than bought are covered in our guide to every free gem source, and they travel the same way.
When the new phone shows older progress
The most common complaint after a Cooking Fever transfer is not a blank save but an old one. The new phone loads, the account is connected, and you are three restaurants behind where you were. Nordcurrent does not publish a rule for which save wins when two devices disagree, so the safe approach assumes the worst.
- Stop playing on the new phone immediately. Every level you clear on the older save makes it harder to argue for the newer one.
- Confirm you logged in with the same email. A second address, even a typo, creates a fresh Nordcurrent ID with nothing in it.
- On the old phone, open Settings and check the account is still connected. If it shows as logged out, log in again there, play one level so the game has a reason to save, and close the app normally.
- On the new phone, log out and log in again, then check the restaurant list.
- If the old phone still holds the newer progress and the new phone will not pick it up, gather both Device IDs and contact support before doing anything else on either device.
Rollbacks after an update, rather than after a transfer, follow the same logic. The Nordcurrent ID article says a lost save is restored by connecting the same account on another device, and if no account was ever connected, the support team needs your Device IDs to look for it.
When to contact Nordcurrent support
Support is the right move in three situations: the old phone is gone and no Nordcurrent ID was ever connected; the progress was on Facebook only; or an ID is connected on both devices and the newer save still will not come across. In every case the article asks for Device IDs. Open the profile window in the game, tap the Support button, and use the COPY button to collect them, then paste them into your message. The Facebook article also points to the ID at the bottom of the Settings screen.
Include the email on your Nordcurrent ID, the platform of each device, your XP level and the last restaurant you remember unlocking, and any store receipts for recent purchases. A player on Microsoft’s Q&A forum described waiting well over a month after a reinstall wiped a Windows save with paid items on it, so give the first message everything the support team could ask for.
One line on modified builds, because the question comes up: a modified package cannot use Nordcurrent ID cloud save, so none of the above applies to it. Cooking Fever Duels is a separate game with its own progress, and a Cooking Fever transfer does not move a Duels account; our post on Nordcurrent’s other games explains the difference.
Frequently asked questions
How do you transfer Cooking Fever progress to a new phone?
Open Settings on the old phone with the gears icon, tap LOG IN, enter an email address and the confirmation code it receives. That creates a Nordcurrent ID holding your save. On the new phone, install the game, open Settings, and log in with the same email before playing anything. The progress downloads from Nordcurrent’s servers.
Can you transfer Cooking Fever from Android to iPhone?
Yes, through a Nordcurrent ID. Nordcurrent lists the feature for both Android and iOS, and the login works the same on each. The older same platform rule, where Android used Google Play and iOS used iCloud and the two never met, no longer limits you. Your store purchase history stays with the store you paid, but the unlocked content is in the save.
Does Cooking Fever still save progress to Facebook?
No. Nordcurrent removed the Facebook connection because of technical limitations and says it will not come back. Progress that was saved to Facebook is still on the original device or linked to the original profile. To move it, create a Nordcurrent ID on that device. If the device is gone, contact support with the Device ID from the Settings screen.
Do you lose purchases when you transfer Cooking Fever progress?
Not if the transfer works, because purchased restaurants, upgrades and unspent gems are part of the progress data that the Nordcurrent ID carries. The store receipt is the only thing that stays behind, tied to the Google or Apple account you paid with. Keep that account and any receipts until the new phone shows everything you expect.
Why did my Cooking Fever progress go back to an older save?
Usually because the new phone logged into a different email, or the old phone was not connected when it last saved. Stop playing on the new phone, confirm the email matches, reconnect on the old phone and play one level, then log out and back in on the new one. If it still shows the old save, send both Device IDs to Nordcurrent support.
Can you change the email on a Nordcurrent ID?
No. Nordcurrent’s support article says the email is fixed once the account exists, and anyone who needs a different address must create a new Nordcurrent ID, which starts empty. Pick a personal address you will keep for years, not one from an employer, a school or a phone contract that could be closed.
The short answer
Create the Nordcurrent ID on the phone that has your progress, using a personal email you will never lose, and wait until Settings shows it connected. Install the game on the new phone and log in with that same email before you play a single level. Check a late restaurant and your gem balance, then keep the old phone and the old store account until you are sure. If the new phone shows an older save, stop playing and send both Device IDs to Nordcurrent support.
If the transfer fails and the progress is genuinely gone, our guide to contacting Cooking Fever support and finding your Player ID covers what to send them.
