Is There a Cooking Fever 2? What Nordcurrent Actually Made

Guides · published 2026-08-14 · figures from Nordcurrent official documentation

Short answer: there is no Cooking Fever 2, and there never has been. Nordcurrent chose to keep expanding the original instead of shipping a sequel, which is why the game now holds 48 restaurants rather than splitting them across two titles.

Why people expect a sequel

The game launched in 2014 and has passed 100 million downloads. A decade of that usually produces a numbered follow up, so searching for one is a reasonable instinct. What happened instead is that new locations kept arriving in the same app, and the restaurant list grew from a handful to 48 across three areas.

So anything sold as a Cooking Fever 2 download is one of three things: the original game under a misleading title, a different developer’s game borrowing the name, or something you should not install.

The games Nordcurrent actually made

Airplane Chefs

The closest thing to a sequel, and the one most often mistaken for a Cooking Fever location. It is a separate game where you cook and serve on commercial flights, under the package name com.nordcurrent.flyingfever. Nordcurrent’s own marketing describes it as taking Cooking Fever to new heights, which is exactly the phrasing that causes the confusion.

It is a different app with a different save. There is no Airplane restaurant inside Cooking Fever, despite a lot of pages claiming otherwise.

Cooking Fever Duels

A real spin off carrying the Cooking Fever name, built around realtime multiplayer matches against other players. Because match state is held on Nordcurrent’s servers rather than on your device, it is also the one title in the family that cannot be modified in any meaningful way.

Happy Clinic and Murder in the Alps

Same developer, different genres entirely. Happy Clinic applies the time management formula to a hospital. Murder in the Alps is a hidden object mystery. Neither is related to Cooking Fever beyond the studio name, but both turn up when people browse by publisher looking for a sequel.

Games by other developers that borrow the name

The cooking genre recycles the same three or four words, so a lot of searches land on the wrong app entirely. These are all separate titles by other studios:

  • Diner Fever
  • Cooking Chef Food Fever
  • Cooking Master Fever
  • Cooking Frenzy Fever Chef
  • Cooking Talent Restaurant Fever

They borrow the naming, not the code. A save from one will not open in another, and a file for any of them will not install over Cooking Fever.

How to check which game you have. Open the location map. If the restaurant list does not match the 48 named locations across City, Paradise Island and Alpine Resort, you are playing something else. The full list is in our unlock all restaurants guide.

How to spot a fake listing

Pages advertising a sequel follow a recognisable pattern, and four checks separate them from anything legitimate.

  • Check the package name. The real game is com.nordcurrent.canteenhd. Airplane Chefs is com.nordcurrent.flyingfever. Anything else is a different app regardless of what the title says.
  • Check the developer. Nordcurrent Games, spelled that way. Listings by similarly named studios are a common trick.
  • Check the screenshots against the restaurant list. If the kitchens do not look like the 48 documented locations, it is not this game.
  • Be suspicious of a version number. The real game is on the 27 line. A file calling itself Cooking Fever 2 version 1.0 is describing an app that does not exist.

What a sequel would actually have to solve

It is worth understanding why the sequel never came, because it explains why one probably will not.

The game’s value to a long term player is entirely in accumulated progress: unlocked restaurants, upgraded kitchens, an account level in the sixties. A sequel either carries that across, in which case it is a reskin of the same save, or it does not, in which case it asks millions of players to start again from a single free restaurant.

Adding locations to the existing app avoids that problem completely. Every update lands for everyone, nobody loses anything, and the restaurant count grows. From a business point of view the current approach is simply better, which is why Airplane Chefs and Duels were built as separate games with separate premises rather than as Cooking Fever 2.

Will there be a Cooking Fever 2?

Nothing has been announced, and the pattern points away from it. Nordcurrent has spent a decade adding to the original: new areas, new locations, seasonal events. A sequel would split that player base and strand a lot of progress, which is a hard thing to justify when the existing game is still receiving content.

The practical answer for now is that the current version is the sequel. Anything advertised under a different number is not from Nordcurrent.
