Cooking Fever Update History: Every New Restaurant by Version
Every Cooking Fever update since 2014 has done one of three things: added a restaurant, started an event, or fixed bugs. This page sorts out which was which. You get the current 27.x line build by build, a table of the restaurants that can be tied to a specific version number from published release notes, older additions grouped by year from the community wiki and Nordcurrent’s own posts, and an honest read on how often the next one lands. It sits alongside the rest of our Cooking Fever guides.
A word on method. Nordcurrent does not publish a changelog on its own site. The most complete record is the version history on the App Store listing, which keeps notes back to mid 2024. APKMirror and Uptodown archive Android builds with dates. For anything older, the community maintained Cooking Fever Wiki records the month a restaurant arrived, and Nordcurrent’s news posts and a handful of 2014 and 2015 press articles fill in the rest. Where a source names a version and a restaurant together, this page pairs them. Where it does not, the restaurant is listed under its year only.
What a Cooking Fever update usually changes
The version number itself tells you what kind of update you are looking at. Since at least 2024 the App Store notes follow a consistent pattern across the three parts of the number.
- First number moves (26.x to 27.0.0). A new restaurant. Every jump from 21 to 27 in the App Store history came with a named restaurant in the notes.
- Second number moves (27.0.x to 27.1.0). A feature or a limited time event. Chef’s Pass Season 1 arrived in 25.1.0, the Healthy Spring Event in 23.1.1, the Super Soup Adventure in 27.1.1.
- Third number moves (27.1.2 to 27.1.3). Maintenance. The note is nearly always the same sentence: “Various bug fixes and small improvements to make your gaming experience smoother.”
A restaurant update is the one that matters to your save. It adds 40 levels, a new menu and usually a new mechanic. Nordcurrent’s post on the Lost Oasis describes grinding fava beans and eggplants by hand and assembling Ta’ameya sandwiches, neither of which existed before that build. The restaurant also costs coins and gems to open, and the totals for all 48 are in our restaurant unlock table. An event update adds a temporary mode, often with its own reward track. A maintenance update changes nothing you can see.
The current 27.x line
The 27 line began in May 2026 and, at the time of writing, the newest build on both stores is 27.1.3. The Android and iOS dates differ for some builds because Nordcurrent does not always ship both platforms on the same day. The official Google Play listing shows whichever build is current for your device.
| Version | Date | What changed |
| 26.1.2 | 25 Feb 2026 | Improved rewards for the Gem Shard Rain event |
| 26.2.2 to 26.2.6 | 16 Apr to 14 May 2026 | Four maintenance builds in four weeks, all bug fixes |
| 27.0.0 | 27 May 2026 | Sakartvelo Heaven, a Georgian restaurant serving khinkali and khachapuri |
| 27.0.1 | 4 Jun 2026 (iOS), 22 Jul 2026 (Android on APKMirror) | Bug fixes. APKMirror lists the Android build at 213.98 MB, Android 9.0 or newer |
| 27.1.0 | 8 Aug 2026 | Android build on APKMirror; the App Store history skips straight to 27.1.1 |
| 27.1.1 | 11 Aug 2026 | Super Soup Adventure event with dice rolls and Golden Keys, plus a redesigned notification system |
| 27.1.2 | 17 Aug 2026 | Android build listed on Uptodown |
| 27.1.3 | 24 Aug 2026 | Bug fixes. Current build on both stores |
Read as a whole, the 27 line is one restaurant, one event, and six maintenance builds. That ratio is typical. Most of what reaches your phone as a Cooking Fever update is housekeeping, and the restaurant arrives roughly twice a year.
2024 and 2025: restaurants you can pin to a version
This is the part of the record where the pairing is stated outright. Each Cooking Fever update below comes from an App Store release note that names the restaurant, cross checked against the wiki for the location. Dates are the App Store dates.
| Version | Date | Restaurant | Location |
| 21.0.0 | 11 Apr 2024 | The Lost Oasis (Egyptian) | Not confirmed |
| 22.0.0 | 17 Sep 2024 | The Party Palace (tenth anniversary) | City |
| 23.0.1 | 13 Dec 2024 | The Seashore (seafood) | Paradise Island |
| 24.0.0 | 5 May 2025 | Vilnius Manor (Lithuanian) | City |
| 25.0.0 | 8 Sep 2025 | Bavarian Festival | Alpine Resort |
| 26.0.0 | 8 Dec 2025 | Evergreen Lodge (winter lodge) | Alpine Resort |
| 27.0.0 | 27 May 2026 | Sakartvelo Heaven (Georgian) | Not confirmed |
The first number is the restaurant counter. From 21.0.0 to 27.0.0 the leading number rose by exactly one for each new restaurant, and never for anything else. If your store shows a Cooking Fever update that only moved the second or third digit, no restaurant arrived. You can tell what an update did before you read the note.
Two details worth adding. The App Store note for 24.0.0 only says a restaurant of Lithuanian national cuisine; the wiki gives its name as Vilnius Manor and places it in the City, a nod to the Vilnius studio that makes the game. And the Party Palace build did more than add a venue. The same note lists a player profile with avatars and a graphics refresh for the original Fast Food restaurant, which is unusual. Restaurant updates rarely touch anything outside the new location.
Nordcurrent’s tenth anniversary post, dated 27 September 2024, put the restaurant count at 42 and worldwide downloads above 500 million. Five restaurants have shipped since, and the wiki’s list now runs to 48.
2020 to 2023: two restaurants a year, then a busier finish
The App Store history does not reach back this far, and the APK archives list version numbers without notes. So the Cooking Fever update record for these years is grouped by year, with the month from the wiki. No version is paired with a restaurant here because no source I could read states one.
- 2020. Pastry Chalet in March. The Three Matryoshkas in October, later renamed The Dumpling Venue in 2022.
- 2021. The Tropical Hideout in March. The Frog and Snail restaurant in July.
- 2022. The Fruity Igloo in April. The Medieval Fair in August.
- 2023. The Flipping Pancake in March. The Korean Restaurant in July, the same month the wiki dates the arrival of boosters as a feature. Then the TGI Fridays restaurant in late December, which Nordcurrent’s January 2024 post says contained nearly 100 branded elements and was played 6 million times in its first 3 weeks.
APKMirror lists version 19.2.1 on 5 December 2023 and 20.0.0 on 19 December 2023. Given the pattern above, 20.0.0 is almost certainly the TGI Fridays build, but no note I could read confirms it, so treat that as likely rather than stated.
December 2023 also brought a change outside the main game. Cooking Fever Duels, a separate real time multiplayer title, launched on 7 December 2023. It is not an update to Cooking Fever and not a sequel either, a distinction we cover in the Cooking Fever 2 question.
2014 to 2019: launch, the islands, and the partnership years
2014 and 2015
Wikipedia dates the iOS release to 27 September 2014 and the Android release to 2 March 2015. The game launched with the City only. The wiki dates the Breakfast Café to October 2014 and the Sushi Restaurant to December 2014, and a TouchTapPlay article from November 2014 confirms the breakfast location had just shipped with the sushi restaurant announced as next. That is the earliest Cooking Fever update with a written record.
2015 was the busiest year the game has had. Paradise Island opened with the Ice Cream Bar in April, which a Nordcurrent Facebook post of the time calls the island’s first location. The Paradise Cocktail Bar followed in June, the Corn Dog Van in August, Café Mexicana in October and the House of Crab in December. A 148Apps article on the Corn Dog Van, published for the first anniversary, counts it as the eleventh restaurant in the game and puts the player base at 50 million. That is five new restaurants in eight months, a pace the game has never repeated.
2016 and 2017
The 2016 Cooking Fever update run added the third map. The wiki places the Smokey Grill BBQ (September 2016) and the Italian Buffet (November 2016) in the Alpine Resort, and dates Sunset Waffles to June 2016. The same year brought the FC Barcelona Sports Bar, a licensed venue where real players from the club sat at your tables. The wiki notes it was renamed plain Sports Bar in 2017 once the partnership ended, which is why nothing in the current game hints at its origin.
2017 filled the Alpine Resort out: Salad Bar in March, Aloha Bistro in June, Michelle’s Café in November. Wikipedia records a Coca Cola partnership from 1 December 2017 that put the brand’s drinks on in game menus, and a 100 million download milestone in March that year.
2018 and 2019
2018: Thai Food Stall in March, Alpine Meat Palace in July, Sirtaki Taverna in September, Sandwich Shop in December. APK archive listings from the period show the version numbers still in the 2.x range: 2.7.1 dated 26 March 2018, 2.8.1 on 31 July and 2.9.0 on 18 September. Those months line up with three of the four restaurants, but the notes are not archived, so the pairing is plausible rather than confirmed.
2019: Michelle’s Confectionery in March, Vegan Peak in June, Dragon Wok in September, and the Rock & Roll Bar in December, built with Hard Rock International, which announced the partnership on 16 December 2019. The numbering changed that year too. The archives show 3.1.0 in January, 4.0.0 in February and 5.0.0 on 31 May 2019. From there the first number climbed to 19 by late 2023, which is consistent with the current rule that a new first number means a new restaurant, though the individual notes from those years are not available to check.
How often a Cooking Fever update arrives
Take the seven dated restaurant builds from 21.0.0 to 27.0.0 and the gaps between them are 5, 3, 5, 4, 3 and 5 months. So the honest answer is a new restaurant every 3 to 5 months, with a visible lean toward spring, September and December.
A maintenance Cooking Fever update is far more frequent and far less regular. The 26.2 line shipped four patches between 16 April and 14 May 2026, then nothing until the restaurant two weeks later. The 27 line has shipped three patches in the five weeks since 22 July.
Playbite’s answer to the next update question says releases have no fixed schedule and typically arrive every 2 to 3 months, which is roughly right if you count events and not just restaurants. Nordcurrent does not pre announce dates. Its project manager, quoted in the anniversary post, credits continuous development and constant updates for the game’s longevity, and says each new restaurant brings lapsed players back. That is the business reason the cadence holds: a restaurant is a re engagement event, and Nordcurrent spaces them out.
Compare that with 2015, when five restaurants shipped in eight months, or 2018 with four. Update frequency for restaurants has roughly halved since the early years, while the number of maintenance and event builds has grown.
One more practical note. Events sometimes change reward tables in ways the notes do mention. The 26.1.2 note says the Gem Shard Rain event paid better after that build, and gem shards are one of the sources in our free gems guide. If a familiar event suddenly pays differently, check the store note before assuming a bug.
Frequently asked questions
What is the latest version of Cooking Fever?
At the time of writing, 27.1.3, dated 24 August 2026 on both the App Store version history and APKMirror. It is a maintenance build. The last version that added a restaurant was 27.0.0 on 27 May 2026, which introduced Sakartvelo Heaven. Your store listing will show a newer number if Nordcurrent has shipped since this page was written.
When was the last Cooking Fever update?
The most recent build, 27.1.3, is dated 24 August 2026. The last update with new content was 27.1.1 on 11 August 2026, which added the Super Soup Adventure event and reworked notifications. Nordcurrent tends to follow an event build with one or two patches within a fortnight, and that is what 27.1.2 and 27.1.3 were.
How often does Cooking Fever add a new restaurant?
Every 3 to 5 months, based on the seven restaurant builds from April 2024 to May 2026. The gaps were 5, 3, 5, 4, 3 and 5 months. Restaurants have favoured spring, September and December recently. Earlier in the game’s life the pace was faster: the wiki dates five new restaurants to 2015 alone and four to 2018.
When is the next Cooking Fever update?
Nordcurrent does not announce dates in advance. Going by the pattern since 2024, a restaurant build is more likely than not between September and December, and maintenance patches can appear any week. Treat that as a pattern, not a promise. The version number on your store page is the quickest way to tell whether a restaurant has arrived.
Which restaurants came in the 26 and 27 versions?
Version 26.0.0, dated 8 December 2025, added Evergreen Lodge, a winter lodge in the Alpine Resort. Version 27.0.0, dated 27 May 2026, added Sakartvelo Heaven, a Georgian restaurant serving khinkali and khachapuri. Every other 26.x and 27.x build was either an event, such as the Super Soup Adventure in 27.1.1, or a bug fix release.
The short answer
Watch the first number of the version. When it climbs, a restaurant has arrived; when only the later digits move, it is an event or a fix. Since 2024 a restaurant Cooking Fever update has landed every 3 to 5 months, most recently Sakartvelo Heaven in 27.0.0 on 27 May 2026, with 27.1.3 the current build. Older restaurants are reliably dated to a month by the community wiki, but not to a version, so do not trust any page that pairs a 2018 restaurant with a version number unless it shows the note.
