Search for the Cooking Fever most XP restaurant and you get a dozen different names, because the honest answer depends on what you have unlocked and upgraded. How XP is awarded inside a level
Every level pays XP on the results screen, next to the coins. The community wiki’s Experience Level page lists four sources: serving customers, upgrading kitchen and interior items, completing restaurant tasks, and completing achievements. Only the first one repeats.
Three things decide how much a level pays:
- How many customers you serve. A level where you lose customers pays less than the same level played clean. noodlearcade’s table warns that results depend on the number of customers served and on tips, so treat every figure below as a ceiling reached with a strong run.
- Which level it is. Later levels seat more customers and sell dearer dishes. Every recorded peak in the table sits between level 34 and 40.
- What you have upgraded. The figures assume the relevant upgrades are bought. Kitchen upgrades raise the price and speed of each dish, interior upgrades keep customers waiting and tipping, and both push the XP up.
Replays count. The results screen XP is paid each time you clear the level, which is why the wiki keeps a page named “Where to play to receive the most Experience and Coins”. Raising your account level also pays gems: noodlearcade puts that at 2 gems per level at first, rising to a maximum of 7, and it is one of the sources in our free gems guide. XP per level: the recorded figures by restaurant
The table combines the wiki’s “Where to play” page with noodlearcade’s playing levels for XP table. Both record one strong run per level, upgraded and without boosters, so your own numbers will land a little above or below. Rows are sorted by XP.

The Sports Bar is the messy row: 425 XP on the wiki, 934 on noodlearcade for the same coins, and a 2020 reader comment on chaptercheats claiming 1,139 from level 37. That spread shows how much upgrades and a clean run change the payout. Alpine Resort appears in neither source, and nobody records run times, so a Cooking Fever most XP restaurant list ranks XP per run, not per minute.
The star count is worth more than the restaurant. Hell’s Kitchen level 40 pays 1,177 XP at 3 stars and 849 at 2 stars. That 328 XP gap is bigger than the gap between Hell’s Kitchen and the fifth row of the table. Before you move to a harder restaurant for XP, check whether you are clearing your current one cleanly.
The answer changes with where you are
Early game: the Sports Bar
The wiki’s “Where to play” page, dated October 2021 in its own text, suggests unlocking the Sports Bar first. The wiki opens it at account level 6, and its level 40 pays 2,314 coins alongside whichever XP figure you believe. It is modest, but it is open long before anything above it.
Mid game: the Sushi Restaurant
Sushi level 34 pays 820 XP and 2,080 coins at 3 stars in noodlearcade’s table, with levels 36 and 38 close behind. noodlearcade’s strategy guide also says the Breakfast Cafe and Sushi Restaurant pay between 500 and 900 XP per play from level 30 upward. Sushi is hard to 3 star, so those figures take upgrades and practice.
Late game: Hell’s Kitchen and Café Mexicana
Hell’s Kitchen level 40 at 3 stars is the highest recorded level in either source. Café Mexicana level 40 is 73 XP behind it, and the wiki says that from the YouTube runs it has reviewed there is no clear improvement after it. For a fully upgraded account, the Cooking Fever most XP restaurant is one of those two.
The replay strategy for levelling fast
- Pick the highest row you can 3 star reliably, not the highest row you own. A clean run of Sushi 34 beats a scrappy run of Hell’s Kitchen 40.
- Buy the upgrades before you farm. The XP for the upgrade itself lands once. The lasting gain is dearer dishes and faster cooking on every run afterward. Upgrades cost coins and later gems, so a farming level has to pay back over many runs.
- Stay in the last few levels. Earlier levels seat fewer customers and cap out lower no matter how well you play.
- Measure XP per minute, not XP per run. A chaptercheats reader reported about 1,100 XP from Corn Dog Van level 34 in roughly two minutes with all upgrades. We could not verify the timing, and noodlearcade lists level 40 of the same van at 833, so time your own candidates.
- Clear tasks while you are there. Restaurant tasks pay XP once each. levelwinner’s guide suggests replaying earlier levels after an upgrade to finish the tasks that were impossible before.
- Farm only when a gate is in the way. A first clear pays the same results screen XP as a replay and moves the restaurant forward too. Replay the Cooking Fever most XP restaurant you own while an account level blocks you, then go back to new levels.
XP versus coins: the tradeoff
XP is a gate currency. Once your account level is past the restaurant you want, extra XP only matters for the gem drip on each level up. Coins are spent forever: 1,043,000 of them just to unlock all 48 restaurants, before a single upgrade. The full costs are in the 48 restaurant unlock table.

Under a gate, farm the highest XP row you can clear cleanly. Past every gate you care about, switch to Aloha Bistro or Smokey Grill, which pay around a third more coins per point of XP than Hell’s Kitchen. The Sports Bar looks efficient here only because its XP is so low.
