Cooking Fever Daily Quests, Gem Shards and Chef’s Pass Explained
Cooking Fever daily quests no longer exist in the form most older guides describe. In November 2025 Nordcurrent folded them into the Chef’s Pass, a 28 day seasonal track fed by daily and weekly orders. This guide explains how those orders refresh, what they pay, how gem shards turn into gems and where shards actually drop, then closes with a routine that clears all three in a few minutes a day. It sits alongside our other Cooking Fever guides.
What happened to Cooking Fever daily quests
For most of the game’s life there was a daily quest panel. It handed you a short list of goals, you played levels that met them, and it paid coins, gems and later gem shards. Nordcurrent’s currency documentation still lists daily quests as a source of all three, which is why the phrase keeps turning up in search.
The panel itself is gone. The community wiki records that the Chef’s Pass update arrived on 5 November 2025, with Season 1 shipping in version 25.1.1, and that its daily and weekly orders replaced the old quests outright. So when you look for Cooking Fever daily quests in the current build, what you find is the Orders tab inside the Chef’s Pass.
The reason for the change is not mysterious. A battle pass keeps you opening the game for 28 days in a row, and it gives Nordcurrent a paid track to sell beside the free one. The old quests only did the first of those two jobs.
How the orders refresh and what they pay
Orders do not pay coins or gems directly. They pay Chef’s Pass Tokens, and tokens are the XP of the pass. You spend them by levelling up the track, and the level milestones are where the coins, gems and other items sit. That is the single most important shift from the old Cooking Fever daily quests: the reward moved one step away from the task.
Daily orders
The wiki lists four daily orders a day. Each grants a small number of tokens, the set resets every day, and any order you completed but did not collect is claimed automatically the next time you log in. Nordcurrent does not publish the token count per order or the hour the reset falls, so treat the reset as “once per game day” and clear the set in one sitting rather than splitting it across midnight.
Nordcurrent’s support article says daily orders can be rerolled as many times as you like using coins. The price climbs with each reroll and drops back to the starting cost the next day. The starting cost is not published and appears to scale with your progress, so check the button before you tap it.
Weekly orders
There are three weekly orders per week. They are longer objectives than the dailies and pay more tokens for it. The reroll rule is different and it matters: Nordcurrent says a weekly order can be rerolled only once per week, and the reroll costs gems rather than coins. Use that single reroll on the one order you genuinely cannot finish, not on the one you merely dislike.
The reroll asymmetry is the whole strategy. Daily rerolls cost coins, reset every day and are unlimited. Weekly rerolls cost gems and you get one. So a daily order that needs a restaurant you have not unlocked is worth rerolling straight away, while a weekly order should almost never be rerolled. Gems spent on rerolling a weekly order are gems the pass was supposed to be paying you.
The Chef’s Pass season: 28 days, 20 levels, two tracks
Nordcurrent’s support article lays out the structure. A season runs four weeks, or 28 days. When it ends the next season starts at once and your level returns to 1. The track tops out at level 20. Every level has a Free Pass reward, which Nordcurrent describes as standard items such as coins and gems, and a Gold Pass reward with more of them plus exclusive items.
| Chef’s Pass | Detail | Source |
| Season length | 4 weeks, 28 days, then a new season starts immediately | Nordcurrent |
| Levels per season | 20, progress resets to level 1 each season | Nordcurrent |
| Daily orders | 4 per day, reset daily, completed ones auto claim at login | Community wiki |
| Weekly orders | 3 per week, longer objectives, more tokens | Community wiki |
| Daily reroll | Coins, unlimited, cost rises per reroll and resets daily | Nordcurrent |
| Weekly reroll | Gems, once per week | Nordcurrent |
| Tracks | Free Pass for everyone, Gold Pass paid | Nordcurrent |
| Spare tokens after level 20 | Converted to Lucky Wheel spins: 150 tokens for the first, 50 more for each after | Nordcurrent |
The Gold Pass can be bought at any point in the season, and buying it unlocks every Gold reward up to the level you have already reached. That is the honest way to decide on it: play the free track first, and only pay near the end if the Gold rewards you would receive on the spot are worth the price shown in your store. Nordcurrent does not publish the price on its support page and it varies by region, so it is not quoted here.
Tokens earned past level 20 are not wasted. Nordcurrent says they convert into Lucky Wheel currency. The first spin costs 150 tokens and each spin after that costs 50 more, with Green, Purple and Red Boxes among the prizes. The per level reward list is not published, so this guide does not reproduce one.
Gem shards: 9 shards make 1 gem
Gem shards are the game’s small change. Nine shards convert automatically into one gem, and they exist so that activities which do not pay a gem outright can still pay a fraction of one. The old Cooking Fever daily quests were a shard source, and the Chef’s Pass orders inherited that role through the pass rewards.
| Where shards drop | Notes | Source |
| Daily quests and pass orders | Listed as a shard source in the currency table | Nordcurrent |
| Casino | Shards are among the wheel prizes | Nordcurrent |
| Calendar of Rewards | Some calendar days pay shards | Nordcurrent |
| Watching ads | 1 shard per ad, and no gems ever | Community wiki |
| Mystery dishes | Occasional shard drops | Community wiki |
| Gem Shards Event | Periodic event built around shards; dates vary | Nordcurrent |
The ad figure is the one to remember. Nine ads is one gem. That is a poor rate on its own, but it turns a leftover balance of seven or eight shards into a gem in a couple of minutes, which is the only time an ad is worth watching for currency. Every other way to earn a full gem, including the level up bonus and the Community Hub, is covered in our gem sources guide, so it is not repeated here.
A daily routine that covers all three
The aim is to touch the Calendar, the orders and the shard sources once, in an order that avoids playing anything twice. The old Cooking Fever daily quests took a couple of minutes to check, and the orders take about the same. The levels take as long as levels take.
- Collect the Calendar first. It pays gems, coins and shards for a tap, and missing a day has a cost explained in the Calendar of Rewards guide.
- Open the Chef’s Pass tab. Anything you finished yesterday has already been claimed. Read the four daily orders and the three weekly orders together before you play.
- Reroll with coins, not gems. If a daily order asks for a restaurant or dish you do not have, reroll it now while the cost is at its daily starting point. Leave the weekly orders alone unless one is impossible.
- Pick one level that serves several orders. Most orders are met by ordinary play, so choose the level that ticks the most boxes. Where you have a choice, take a level you have not beaten before, because new levels raise your account XP and levelling up pays gems, as the XP levels guide explains.
- Spin the casino if you have tickets. It is a shard source as well as a coin and gem one, and it costs nothing you were going to keep.
- Watch an ad only to finish a gem. Check your shard count. At seven or eight, one or two ads complete the conversion. At two, they do not, so close the game instead.
Once a week, give the weekly orders a proper look. Three orders across seven days is a comfortable pace if you know what they ask on day one and a scramble if you first read them on day six.
Frequently asked questions
Do Cooking Fever daily quests still exist?
Not as a separate panel. The community wiki records that the Chef’s Pass update of November 2025 replaced daily quests with daily and weekly orders inside the pass. The goals feel similar, but they now pay Chef’s Pass Tokens instead of currency, and the coins, gems and shards come from the pass levels those tokens unlock.
When do the daily orders reset in Cooking Fever?
Once per day. Nordcurrent does not publish the clock hour, and it can differ by device and region. The practical rule is to finish the four orders in a single session, because a half finished order does not carry over. Orders you completed but forgot to collect are safe; the game claims them for you at your next login.
How many gem shards make a gem in Cooking Fever?
Nine. The conversion happens on its own once the ninth shard lands. Shards come from the pass orders, the casino, the Calendar of Rewards, mystery dishes, the periodic Gem Shards Event and reward videos, where the wiki lists one shard per ad. Ads pay no gems directly, which is the detail most players get wrong.
Is the Gold Pass worth buying?
Only you can price it, because Nordcurrent does not publish the cost and it varies by store. What helps is the timing rule: the Gold Pass can be bought on the last day of a season and it still unlocks every Gold reward up to your current level. So play free, look at what a purchase would hand you that day, and decide then.
What happens to Chef’s Pass Tokens after level 20?
They stop levelling the pass and turn into Lucky Wheel currency. Nordcurrent’s article prices the first spin at 150 tokens and adds 50 to each spin after it, with Green, Purple and Red Boxes among the prizes. Nothing carries into the next season, so spend the spins before the 28 day timer runs out.
The short answer
Treat the Chef’s Pass orders as the new Cooking Fever daily quests. Clear the four daily orders in one session, reroll the awkward ones with coins, and save the single gem reroll for a weekly order you truly cannot finish. Collect the Calendar and spin the casino on the same visit, because both pay shards. Watch ads only when you are a shard or two short of a gem, and let the 28 day season do the rest.
